How to enable access control for polls
In many meetings, only specific individuals have voting rights, while others attend as observers. To streamline decision-making and keep poll results accurate, we’ve developed access control for Multilingual Polls. This feature allows you to limit voting access to only designated participants via a “poll-enabled audience view” link. Meanwhile, other attendees can still follow along with live captions and translations, making the meeting accessible to everyone.
Follow the steps below to enable this feature:
- Go to your session and click Access code.
- Switch on the Require access code for polls toggle to activate this feature.
- Click the Poll-enabled audience view link to open the audience view or click the copy button to share the link with your participants who can vote.
Once participants access the link and the poll is active, they can cast their votes.
Download the PDF guide on how to enable access control for polls and share it with your team or operator.
You can share the regular audience view link with the other attendees who are not voting by going to the session editor and copying the audience view link. They can still view captions and translations during your meeting even though they cannot vote.
What will my audience see?
Start a poll (follow this guide on how to set up your poll).
Here is the difference in what your audience will see.
If they open the audience view via the special URL that includes the poll access code, they will be able to vote, as shown in the screen on the left in the image below.
If they open the audience view through the regular link, they will see the screen on the right, where a pop-up will appear showing that voting is in progress.
