What link to use for cloud loopback

Click on the platform you use, and follow the steps that appear below.

Zoom

Zoom has various types of video conferencing. Currently, we only support zoom meetings and zoom webinars. Follow the steps below to find the appropriate link to use for your choice of video conferencing.

Zoom Meeting

  1. In the zoom meeting, click on “participants” in the meeting controls.
  2. Click “invite” at the bottom of the participants panel.
  3. Click on “copy URL” at the bottom of the modal.
  4. Use the copied link for cloud loopback.

For Zoom Webinar:

When using zoom webinar, there are two cases:

  1. Zoom Webinar requiring registration
  2. Zoom Webinar not requiring registration

These two cases require using different links for cloud loopback to work.

For Zoom Webinar with registration:

To use cloud loopback for a zoom webinar that requires registration, cloud loopback will need a registered user link. This means that you need to register for the event using an email address, specifically to get access for cloud loopback. The link that you get from the registration is the link that cloud loopback will need. Note that when cloud loopback joins the webinar, it will have the same name you used for registration.
To prevent confusion, it is better if you enter an appropriate descriptive name during the registration process. Also, this means that you need to start the webinar before cloud loopback can join since it is joining as a participant and not as a panelist

Zoom Webinar without registration

To use cloud loopback for a zoom webinar that does not require registration, cloud loopback will need the normal participant link. However, you need to ensure that the webinar has already started since cloud loopback will be joining as a participant, and not a panelist.

Cloud Loopback as a Zoom Webinar panelist

If for whatever reason you want cloud loopback to join as a panelist, you will need to have an invited panelist link. This means that you need to send a zoom webinar invite to an email that will not be used by others during this webinar. Get the zoom invite link that is sent to that email, and use that link for cloud loopback. Note that cloud loopback might show up on Zoom with the display name you entered when creating the invitation.
