- Upload to spf.io studio 1.0 and translate
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1 — Log in to your spf.io account.
Step 2 — Navigate to spf.io version 2.0.
Click the Profile icon and select spf.io studio 2.0.
Step 3 — Navigate to the Books feature.
In the sidebar menu, choose Resources > Books.
Step 4 — Add a new book by clicking Create a Book.
Step 5 — Fill in the Create a Book form.
Fill in the fields on the form:
-
-
Required fields: Title, Authors/Contributors, Source Language
-
Optional fields: Subtitle, Publisher, Identifier Type, Publication Date, Categories, Description, Cover Image (drag & drop or click to upload a JPG/PNG)
-
Once finished, click Create a Book.
Step 6 — Upload a book file on the Book Details page.
Click Upload File or Add Book File > select a PDF from your device.
Note: To edit book information, click the kebab menu next to the book’s title on the Book Details page.
Step 7 — Split your book file into chapters or sections.
a. Select a page, or press Shift and click the pages to select a range (Note: To view all keyboard shortcuts, click the Keyboard icon in the top-left corner of the Book Split area.)
b. Once the pages are selected, add the Section Name, then click Create section. You can also input the page range manually using the From page and To page fields. The created section will appear in the right panel, where you can edit or delete it.
c. Once all pages have been grouped into sections, click Split.
Step 8 — Convert your PDF to DOCX.
You can convert all book sections at once by clicking Convert All to DOCX, or convert them individually by clicking the Convert icon in the section list.
Note: Before converting to DOCX, you can choose to clean up Drop Cap formatting. This option merges the enlarged drop cap letter back into the standard text and removes its special styling, ensuring a cleaner layout and better text flow in your exported file. To apply this, simply check the box before starting the conversion.
Tip: Converted DOCX files might require manual fine-tuning, especially for complex layouts. For the best results, you can download the sections individually, correct any formatting adjustments in your preferred word processor, and then re-upload the finalized files to their corresponding book sections.
Step 9 — Download Book as a playlist and upload to spf.io studio 1.0 Playlist.
a. Click Download as Playlist to get a .zip file.
b. Go back to spf.io studio 1.0 via the Profile icon.
c. Navigate to the Playlist menu, then click Import Playlist.
From here, you can access the source document files and start translating the book.
Tip: If you need to move your playlist to another instance, you can download it as a .zip file and import it to the other instance.
